Makubaliano ya siri kati ya magavana na maseneta yamefikiwa na kufifisha mvutano wa wiki kadhaa uliotishia shughuli za kaunti. Makubaliano ya siri yalifikiwa baada ya mazungumzo makali Senetini yakiongozwa na Kiongozi wa Wengi Aaron Cheruiyot na ujumbe wa Baraza la Magavana ukiongozwa na Ahmed Abdullahi.

Magavana wamekubali kufika mbele ya Kamati ya Matumizi ya Kaunti kwa ukaguzi wa matumizi ya fedha, kuachana na takwa la kuondolewa kwa maseneta wanne na kusitisha mashambulizi ya hadharani. Maseneta wameahidi kushughulikia madai ya ulaghai na ubadhirifu kwa mujibu wa taratibu zao, kudumisha nidhamu na kuzingatia ongezeko la mgao wa fedha kwa kaunti.

Mdokezi alisema, “Kulikuwa na mvutano mkubwa. Magavana walitaka kuhakikishiwa heshima katika vikao, huku maseneta wakitaka ushirikiano kamili. Mwishowe kila upande ulikubali kupunguza makali.”
