Mamlaka ya Mapato ya Kenya (KRA) imetangaza kuwa imeweka kiwango cha riba cha soko kwa kodi ya faida za pembeni na kiwango cha riba kinachoonekana kwa 8% kwa kipindi cha Aprili hadi Juni 2026. Tangazo hili lilitolewa tarehe Ijumaa, Aprili 10, na linaanza kutumika mara moja. Washirika wameambiwa kusasisha mifumo yao ili kuepuka adhabu.

Tangazo hili lilitolewa tarehe Ijumaa, Aprili 10, na linasema, "Kiwango cha riba cha soko kwa Kodi ya Faida za Pembeni na Kiwango cha Riba Kinachoonekana kimewekwa kwa asilimia 8 kwa kipindi cha Aprili hadi Juni 2026."

Kodi ya Faida za Pembeni hutolewa wakati mwajiri anapokopesha mfanyakazi kwa kiwango cha riba chini ya soko au kutoa faida zisizo za pesa kama magari. Inatokana na tofauti kati ya kiwango cha soko na riba halisi inayolipwa, kulingana na kifungu 12B cha Sheria ya Kodi ya Mapato, kilichotangazwa Juni 12, 1998. Kiwango hiki kinatumika hata kama mkopo unaendelea baada ya kufutwa kazi.

Kwa upande mwingine, riba inayoonekana hutumika kwa mikopo kwa wasio na wafanyakazi bila riba au kwa kiwango kidogo. Aidha, KRA imetangaza kodi ya mapato ya 15% kwa riba inayoonekana, ambayo washirika wanapaswa kuipunguza na kuipeleka kwa Kamishna ndani ya siku tano za kazi.

Washirika wameambiwa kusasisha mifumo yao ya malipo ya mishahara na uhasibu ili kufuata viwango hivi na kuepuka adhabu. Sasisho hili ni sehemu ya ukaguzi wa kila robo mwaka wa viwango vya soko vinavyotumika katika hesabu za kodi, ili kuakisi hali ya uchumi na kuhakikisha usawa.
