Sekta ya kibinafsi yapendekeza kupunguzwa kwa ushuru wa PAYE hadi asilimia 30

Wadau kutoka sekta ya kibinafsi, benki na wahasibu wameiambia Kamati ya Bunge ya Fedha na Mipango ya Kitaifa kupunguza kiwango cha juu cha ushuru wa PAYE kutoka asilimia 35 hadi 30.

Muungano wa Sekta ya Kibinafsi Kenya (Kepsa) uliwasilisha mapendekezo yake wakati wa mkutano na kamati hiyo. Mwenyekiti Jaswinder Bedi alisema kiwango cha sasa cha asilimia 35 kinatozwa mapato ya zaidi ya Sh9.6 milioni kwa mwaka.

Kepsa inapendekeza viwango vitano vipya vya ushuru na kiwango cha juu cha asilimia 30. Pendekezo hilo pia linataka kuongeza msamaha wa ushuru wa kibinafsi hadi Sh3,000 kwa mwezi.

Mkurugenzi Mkuu wa Chama cha Benki Kenya Raimond Molenje alisema kupunguza ushuru kutawawezesha benki kutoa mikopo ya ziada ya Sh10 bilioni. Mshirika wa masuala ya ushuru katika Grant Thornton Samuel Mwaura alisema wafanyakazi wa sekta rasmi wanabeba mzigo mkubwa wa ushuru.
