Chama cha Wenye Magari cha Kenya (MAK) kimeitaka serikali kuchukua udhibiti kamili wa sekta ya usafiri wa umma kutoka kwa waendeshaji binafsi.

Katika taarifa iliyotolewa Jumamosi Juni 6, MAK ilisema mfumo wa sasa umeshindwa kuwapa Wakenya usafiri salama na mzuri. Chama kilitaja uendeshaji wa kizembe, muziki mkubwa na tabia mbaya kama dalili za ukosefu wa nidhamu.

MAK ilisisitiza kuwa sekta hii inayodhibitiwa na sekta binafsi kwa asilimia 90 hadi 95 haifai tena. Serikali ina jukumu la mdhibiti pekee kupitia Kenya Railways na miradi ya BRT.

Wito huu unakuja wakati ambapo ajali za matatu zimeongezeka Nairobi, zikiwemo zile zilizoua watu saba Juni 3 na zingine Machi na Januari.
