PS Hinga asema interns wa nyumba za bei nafuu watalipwa Alhamisi

Katibu Mkuu wa serikali Charles Hinga amethibitisha kuwa interns wa programu ya BOMA YANGU ya nyumba za bei nafuu watalipwa Alhamisi baada ya kushughulikiwa na malipo yaliyocheleweshwa. Amesema kuwa tatizo lilitokana na makosa katika bajeti mbili za exchequer. Hata wafanyikazi wakuu wa wizara hawajalipwa mshahara wa mwezi uliopita.

Charles Hinga, Katibu Mkuu wa Wizara ya Makazi na Maendeleo ya Miji, alitoa taarifa hiyo wakati wa mahojiano na NTV, ambapo mmoja wa interns alimwuliza kuhusu malipo yaliyocheleweshwa.

“Hi, please ask the PS if he is aware that the BOMA YANGU interns have not been paid last month’s stipend,” aliuliza intern huyo. PS Hinga alijibu, “It should come today, or tomorrow, or later Thursday; they should be paid. But I will follow up today immediately I leave this place.”

Alielezea kuwa tatizo lilitokana na makosa ya kuchanganya malipo mawili: moja kutoka kwa Hazina ya Taifa na nyingine kutoka kwa housing levy chini ya Affordable Housing Board. Hii ilifanya wizara isihameweze kutenganisha malipo hayo.

Hinga alisema hata yeye na wengine wakuu hawajalipwa mshahara wa mwezi uliopita. Alikanusha uvumi kwamba wizara haina fedha za kutosha, akithibitisha kuwa fedha zimepokelewa kutoka kwa Hazina ya Taifa. “But the money we have, it is just some, it's a mistake that should not have happened in terms of processing the two payrolls,” alisisitiza.
