Rental prices rise over 30 percent in Valencia, Malaga and Palma over a decade

INE data reveal an average 22.9 percent rise in Spanish rents from 2015 to 2024, with increases above 30 percent in three provincial capitals.

The Valencian Community leads the price surge with a 29.2 percent increase over the period. In its capital, Valencia, rents rose 36.4 percent, the highest recorded in Spain.

Malaga and Palma follow closely with rises of 32.7 percent and 31.3 percent. Seven other autonomous communities exceed 20 percent growth, including the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands and Catalonia.

Only the municipality of Berja in Almeria recorded a 3.12 percent drop. The rest of the country shows widespread increases, though of varying intensity.
