Kituo cha polisi cha Sameri Park huko Kitengela, Kaunti ya Kajiado, kimekosa umeme na maji kwa miaka miwili tangu kuanzishwa, na hivyo polisi wanatumia mishumaa usiku. Kituo kiko katika hali mbaya kimudu; kuna meza moja ya mbao ambayo hutumiwa kuandika ripoti za matukio, na ukuta umepasuka. Umeme na maji ulikatwa kutokana na bili ambayo haijalipwa. Afisa mmoja aliyeficha jina lake alisema, “Inabidi tujinunulie mishumaa. Maisha yamekuwa magumu sana tunapotekeleza wajibu wetu.”

Hali hiyo ilionyeshawa wakati mshukiwa wa wizi alizubiriwa kwenye seli ndogo ambayo hewa haingii vizuri, na maafisa wakavunja ukuta kumwokoa.

Alisema, “Tunataka Tume ya Maadili na Kukabili Ufisadi Nchini (EACC) ifanye ukaguzi kufahamu jinsi pesa hizo zilivyotumiwa. Ni miaka miwili baada ya ukarabati kufanyika lakini hatuoni chochote cha maana.”

Kamanda wa Polisi wa Kaunti Ndogo ya Isinya, Simon Lokitari, alikiri umeme ulikatwa na kusema ni wajibu wa serikali ya kaunti kulipa gharama. Aliongeza, “Licha ya ugumu uliopo, maafisa wetu bado wanajituma sana kutekeleza wajibu wao.”
