Brands showcase concepts and announce productions at são paulo auto show

At the 2025 São Paulo Auto Show, automakers gauge public reactions with prototypes and announce local production plans. Groups like Stellantis and new Chinese brands reveal conceptual vehicles and Brazilian manufacturing strategies. The event at Anhembi highlights electric and hybrid trends until November 30.

The 2025 São Paulo Auto Show, open to the public until November 30 at the Anhembi pavilion, serves as a platform for automakers to showcase concepts previewing future launches. The Stellantis group, controlling Fiat, Peugeot, and Citroën, employs dual strategies: displaying prototypes to test reactions and revealing potential models. Instead of the Fiat Panda, the Italian brand presents the Dolce Camper concept, an SUV with colors inspired by the Cerrado and coffee plantations, and pixelated headlights and taillights similar to the future national compact.

Peugeot displays the new 3008, while Citroën brings the C5 Aircross, unveiled at the 2024 Paris Auto Show, with European refinement differing from simpler models like C3 and Basalt. This SUV may arrive in Brazil in hybrid and electric versions, and its front design anticipates updates in Porto Real (RJ). Renault tests the Niagara concept, the basis for a pickup to be produced in Argentina and launched in 2026, competing with Fiat Toro, Ford Maverick, and RAM Rampage, using the same platform as the Boreal midsize SUV.

Hyundai shows the Ioniq 9, a large electric utility vehicle slated for 2026. The Brazilian Lecar Campo presents a hybrid pickup without final mechanics, with market arrival in 2027 and factory construction in Sooretama (ES) starting early 2026.

Chinese brands lead announcements of local production. Saic, owner of MG, plans to start operations in 2026 using the SKD system, including the electric hatch MG4 from R$ 169,600. Leapmotor, part of the Stellantis group, confirmed assembly in Goiana (PE) from 2026 for hybrid and electric models. Changan will use Caoa facilities in Anápolis (GO) for models like Avatr. Geely, partnering with Renault, will invest R$ 3.8 billion in the Ayrton Senna complex in São José dos Pinhais (PR), producing the hybrid version of the EX5 SUV in the second half of 2026. Expectations include productions from GAC, Omoda Jaecoo, and Jetour, plus the Chevrolet Spark EV in Ceará.
