McDonald's has opened its 200th restaurant in Sweden at Mall of Scandinavia, with 21-year-old Dante Lundin as the new manager. He has risen from the floor to a leadership role in just over four years and feels both excitement and nervousness ahead of the launch. The restaurant has hired around 60 people of various ages.

This week, McDonald's opened its 200th restaurant in Sweden, located at Mall of Scandinavia. The young restaurant manager, 21-year-old Dante Lundin, takes on the role after working his way up from entry-level in just over four years. Ahead of the opening, he expresses a mix of enthusiasm and apprehension.

"It's clear there's some nervousness," he says. "It's always like that with big things in life. But I think it's positive."

Lundin welcomes guests warmly: "But we welcome all hungry and curious visitors. It will be fantastic fun."

For the new outlet, around 60 people have been hired, many in Lundin's age group or younger, but also older staff. He emphasizes respect regardless of generation: "I haven't placed any special weight on it; for me, it's always about treating everyone with respect and expecting the same back, regardless of age."

As a Gen Z member, Lundin defends young people's work ethic against common criticism. "I think the work ethic is really good," he says. He believes Gen Z seeks safety, a good work environment, and inclusion, like other generations, and sees it as his duty to provide those conditions.

Personally, Lundin prefers a Big Mac without pickle due to taste, but notes that all food is made to order and always fresh.
