A villa just west of Uppsala was completely destroyed in a fire on Tuesday morning. The residents escaped on their own and no one was injured.
The alarm about the fire reached SOS at around 8:20 a.m. Rescue services confirmed that the residents had left the villa without injuries.
There was initially some risk of spread to nearby forest and ground, but that risk was averted. At 12:45 p.m. rescue services were still at the scene fighting so-called creeping fires.
Police were also present. No information was available on when the operation would end.
