الفريق الأول يلمَ مرداسا، رئيس أركان القوات الجوية الإثيوبية، وصف تدريب ضباط كفؤين لتعزيز قدرة القوة على القيادة بأنه قضية بقاء حاسمة للمؤسسة. جاء هذا التصريح خلال تدريب قيادي عسكري يمتد خمسة أسابيع في أكاديمية القوات الجوية بأديس أبابا يوم ميغبيت 2، 2018. الجنرال نصح كبار الضباط بأن يكونوا قدوة من خلال تاريخهم المهني، وبناء قوة ذهنية ونفسية، والحفاظ على الولاء والهدوء في المواقف الصعبة. وأكد أن القادة يمكنهم اتخاذ قرارات دقيقة في سيناريوهات غير متوقعة من خلال تقييم الظروف النفسية والتقنية قبل حشد وحداتهم للعمل. حاليًا، تواجه القوات الجوية نقصًا في الطيارين والمهندسين والفنيين المؤهلين، وفقًا للفريق الأول مرداسا. وأشار إلى أن مثل هذا التدريب يطور هيكل قيادة كفء لتعزيز المؤسسة. تم توجيه كبار الضباط بالالتزام بالانضباط والقيادة بالقدوة في جميع الجوانب لإلهام وتمكين فرقهم.
