The Israeli army intercepted two drones from the Iran-backed Houthi militia in Yemen overnight. Sirens sounded beforehand in the area of the port city of Eilat on the Red Sea. This comes after further attacks by the militia since joining the conflict.

The Houthi militia, which controls large parts of Yemen and receives military support from Iran, entered the war on Saturday alongside Tehran. This conflict began a month ago when Israel and the US targeted Iran. In quick succession, the militia fired rockets and drones at Israel, all of which were intercepted according to Israeli reports.
During the Gaza war, the Houthi militia had repeatedly targeted Israel and attacked merchant ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
