تخطط مجموعة "ليندا موانانشي" التابعة لحزب الحركة الديمقراطية البرتقالية (ODM) لعقد اجتماع كبير في ثيكا في 14 يونيو، وذلك في إطار جهودها لتأسيس نفسها كحركة وطنية قبل انتخابات عام 2027.

توجه المجموعة المرتبطة بسيناتور نيروبي إدوين سيفونا جهودها نحو المناطق التي لم تكن تقليديًا معاقل لحزب ODM، وذلك عقب الاستقبال الحافل الذي حظيت به في منطقة أوكامباني في عطلة نهاية الأسبوع الماضي. وقال سيناتور فيهيجا جودفري أوسوتسي إن الهدف هو توحيد الكينيين من جميع أنحاء البلاد، مشيرًا إلى أنهم يخططون للتوجه إلى ميرو وإلدوريت بعد اجتماع ثيكا. ومن جهته، صرح المحلل السياسي الدكتور جوشوا وافولا بأن اجتماع ثيكا يُعد استراتيجيًا لأن منطقة جبل كينيا ستظل منطقة مهمة في الانتخابات الرئاسية. وكانت المجموعة قد أعلنت في أبريل عن خطط لإجراء تقييمات ميدانية وإنشاء مركز تنسيق لأنشطتها.
