Red Bull Racing introduced a major upgrade package at the Austrian Grand Prix that former mechanic Calum Nicholas compared to a B-spec car. The team also pursued an undisclosed weight reduction effort. Verstappen and Hadjar scored points in the race.
Red Bull arrived at the Red Bull Ring with seven modifications documented by the FIA. These changes targeted the sidepod inlets, engine cover, floor top and underside, rear corners and rear suspension fairings to improve flow conditioning and efficiency.
Nicholas discussed the updates on the Talking Bull podcast. "It does almost feel like a B-spec car," he said. He added that hidden weight reductions under the bodywork may have contributed more to the pace gains than the visible aero parts.
Max Verstappen finished second and teammate Isack Hadjar took sixth place. The result gave Red Bull 26 points from the event.
