مجلس أئمة كينيا يدين الهجوم على اجتماع حول الميزانية في كاتدرائية نيروبي

أدان المجلس الأعلى لمسلمي كينيا (SUPKEM) بشدة تعطيل اجتماع لمناقشة الميزانية الوطنية في كاتدرائية "أول سينتس" في نيروبي.

هدف الاجتماع إلى دراسة تأثيرات الميزانية الوطنية لعام 2026-2027 على المواطنين العاديين عقب تقديمها من قبل وزير المالية جون مبادي الأسبوع الماضي. وحضر الاجتماع قادة المجتمع المدني وشخصيات دينية ومحامون وعدد من المواطنين.

واقتحمت مجموعة من الأشخاص التجمع وأثارت الفوضى، مما دفع ضباط الشرطة للتدخل. وقالت دائرة الشرطة الوطنية إنها بدأت تحقيقاً باستخدام لقطات كاميرات المراقبة لتحديد هوية المشتبه بهم.

وعبّر المجلس الأعلى لمسلمي كينيا عن استيائه من الحادث، واصفاً إياه بنقص في احترام دور العبادة. وجاء في بيان المجلس: "الأمر الأكثر حزناً هو الجرأة التي أظهروها في الاقتحام بقصد إيذاء المشاركين". كما حذر المجلس من أن العنف المستمر قد يؤدي إلى وضع مشابه لما سبق انتخابات عام 2007.
