TKMS modtager storordre fra Canada på op til tolv ubåde

ThyssenKrupp-datterselskabet TKMS modtog i starten af juli en ordre fra Canada på op til tolv ubåde af typen 212CD. Ordrens værdi anslås til op mod 100 milliarder canadiske dollars.

Ordren fra Ottawa har vakt stor begejstring i den føderale regering, delstatsregeringerne og virksomheden. Den ses som et tegn på større uafhængighed af USA og en mere stabil tysk forsvarsevne.

TKMS-chef Oliver Burkhard kigger fra sit kontor i Kiel ud over en fyldt ordrebog. Endnu en storordre kan følge inden årets udgang.

Så sent som i 2024 stod marineafdelingen over for økonomiske problemer. Efter børsnoteringen i oktober 2025 blev virksomheden udskilt fra moderselskabet. Den daværende føderale regering forhandlede sig til statslig deltagelse for at bevare lokationen.
