Ypê has decided to continue offering exchanges or refunds to consumers who prefer to return products from the final batch 1, even after Anvisa ruled that the items do not need to be recalled immediately.
The company communicated the new stance to Metrópoles and Folha on Friday (15/5), after temporarily suspending the refund guidance. Anvisa established that liquid laundry detergents, liquid dish soaps and disinfectants with the final batch 1 should remain stored until new independent laboratory reports are issued.
In a statement, Ypê said it remains aligned with the agency and prioritizes consumer satisfaction. The company reiterated that its internal controls indicate the products are safe, but proposed independent tests to release the batches.
Anvisa confirmed there is no specific limit for bacteria in cleaning products in Brazil, although good manufacturing practice rules require contamination prevention. Production and sales suspension continues, and consumers can request refunds via the company website form with values ranging from R$ 2.99 to R$ 19.99.
