Dreiste Nachahmungen von Tomodachi Life, Subnautica 2 und Paralives sind in den letzten Wochen im Google Play Store erschienen. Einige verwenden leicht veränderte Namen, während andere die Titel direkt kopieren. Google hat begonnen, viele davon zu entfernen.

Die Klone verwenden oft KI-generierte Inhalte oder direkt kopierte Assets aus den Originalen. Links zu einigen Apps leiten Nutzer zu nicht zusammenhängenden Titeln wie Transportsimulatoren oder Horror-Spiele-Parodien weiter. Rezensenten berichten von massiver Werbung, Aufforderungen zu In-App-Käufen und gelegentlichen Weiterleitungen zu anderer Software. Eine Rezension lautete schlicht: „DAS IST NICHT TOMODACHI LIFE!!!!!“ GameRant merkte an, dass zwei Tomodachi-Life-Klone jeweils 50.000 Downloads erreichten, bevor sie entfernt wurden. Ein Paralives-Klon kam auf 10.000 Downloads, obwohl die Entwickler erklärten, dass es keine offizielle mobile Version gibt. Die Moderatoren von Google Play entfernen die Titel aktiv, wobei einige jedoch bereits zuvor tausende Downloads sammeln konnten.
