Daniel Ceder, who runs a microbrewery in Knivsta, has received permission to serve alcohol on Dragarbrunnsgatan in Uppsala without the requirement for warm food.
On Monday, June 1, the requirement to combine alcohol service with warm food prepared on site was removed. Daniel Ceder is among the first to apply and has received the keys to the premises.
He plans to serve snacks but no cooked food. A bingo hall has also submitted an application to Uppsala municipality.
The new rules mean restaurants and bars no longer need a kitchen, to serve warm food, to have a certain number of seats or to limit the bar's size.
