Around 60–70 employees from the medical clinic in Falun marched to the Region House on Wednesday to protest the decision not to extend operations manager Kerstin Smids' appointment. They handed a petition with 270 signatures to health and medical care director Åsa Dedering. The staff express strong dissatisfaction with the decision, which has been questioned through letters and meetings.

On Wednesday, around 60–70 employees from the medical clinic at Falu Hospital in Falun gathered to march to the Region House in Dalarna. The purpose was to protest the decision not to extend operations manager Kerstin Smids' appointment when it expires in August. The staff handed a protest petition signed by about 270 employees to health and medical care director Åsa Dedering.

Sofia Storm, a nurse and trust elected in Vårdförbundet, said: "We want to show our dissatisfaction." Doctor Antina Wegener, who participated in the protest, stated: "I do not allow anyone to come and not extend a management appointment for a person who has worked hard for us and stands behind us."

The dissatisfaction has built up through several letters from managers and employees to the region leadership, questioning the decision. Various staff groups have also held meetings with the leadership, including the doctor group. However, divisionschef Caroline Herlin has stood firm on her decision and wrote in an email to Falukuriren: "Dialogue has been conducted with the affected operations and the employees' views as well as the concerns expressed have been considered in the decision-making process. The decision remains, however."

Åsa Dedering commented: "A lot of dialogue has been conducted in this matter, there have been many meetings. But of course, we take in what they raise because it is very important that we have a good dialogue and we take all such feedback seriously." The decision has shaken the clinic, but the leadership emphasizes that the employees' views are considered.
