Das Personal verließ das Gebäude in der Hipólito Yrigoyen 250 kurz vor 15:00 Uhr. Die Mitarbeiter nutzten die Treppen, da die Aufzüge gesperrt blieben, und versammelten sich auf der Plaza de Mayo. Einsatzkräfte stellten im Rahmen des Protokolls die Gas- und Wasserversorgung ab. Beamte der Bundespolizei durchsuchten das Gelände und sperrten den Verkehr zwischen Bolívar und Paseo Colón. Minister Luis Caputo befand sich gerade in einer Besprechung mit dem ehemaligen kolumbianischen Präsidenten Iván Duque, als die Evakuierung begann. Die Behörden machten keine Angaben zur Herkunft der Drohung und fanden bei ersten Überprüfungen keine verdächtigen Gegenstände.
