Gauteng: Polizeibeamter der SAPS wegen mutmaßlicher Bestechung vor Disziplinarverfahren

Ein sofortiges Disziplinarverfahren gegen den Beamten wurde in die Wege geleitet. Die Polizeileitung von Gauteng teilt mit, dass zudem eine behördeninterne Untersuchung eingeleitet wurde, um die genauen Umstände des Vorfalls zu klären. Der South African Police Service (SAPS) in Gauteng erklärt, dass die Annahme, Forderung oder Vermittlung von Bestechungsgeldern eine Straftat darstellt und einen schweren Verstoß gegen den Verhaltenskodex der SAPS bedeutet. „Der Polizeikommissar der Provinz Gauteng, Generalleutnant Tommy Mthombeni, verurteilt das mutmaßliche Verhalten aufs Schärfste“, sagte die Polizeisprecherin von Gauteng, Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi. „Die SAPS wird Korruption in keiner Form dulden.“
