Un agent de la SAPS du Gauteng sous le coup d'une procédure disciplinaire pour corruption présumée

La police du Gauteng a engagé une procédure disciplinaire contre un agent apparu dans une vidéo sur les réseaux sociaux en train de rendre, en uniforme, une somme d'argent reçue en pot-de-vin. La direction provinciale a identifié l'agent et a ouvert une enquête sur l'incident.

Une procédure disciplinaire immédiate a été engagée à l'encontre de cet agent. La direction de la police du Gauteng précise qu'une enquête interne a également été ouverte afin d'établir les circonstances exactes de l'incident. La police sud-africaine (SAPS) du Gauteng rappelle que l'acceptation, la sollicitation ou la facilitation d'un pot-de-vin constitue une infraction pénale et une violation grave du code de conduite de la SAPS. « Le commissaire provincial du Gauteng, le lieutenant-général Tommy Mthombeni, a fermement condamné ce comportement présumé », a déclaré Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, porte-parole de la police du Gauteng. « La SAPS ne tolérera aucune forme de corruption. »
