Linke Parteien protestieren in Visakhapatnam gegen Kraftstoffpreiserhöhungen

Mitglieder der CPI(M) und der CPI protestierten am Freitag in Visakhapatnam gegen die jüngste Kraftstoffpreiserhöhung der Zentralregierung und forderten eine sofortige Rücknahme.

Aktivisten der CPI(M) versammelten sich in der Nähe des RTC-Komplexes in Dwarakanagar. Sie zogen als symbolischen Akt gegen die steigenden Kraftstoffkosten eine Autorikscha mit Seilen.

Der Distriktsekretär der CPI(M) für Visakhapatnam, M. Jaggunaidu, kritisierte die Zentralregierung. Er sagte, die Regierung habe vor den Wahlen in fünf Bundesstaaten behauptet, es gäbe keinen Kraftstoffmangel, habe die Preise aber unmittelbar nach den Wahlen erhöht und damit die Öffentlichkeit belastet. Der Anstieg bei Benzin und Diesel werde die Preise für lebensnotwendige Güter in die Höhe treiben, fügte er hinzu.

Führer der CPI organisierten einen separaten Protest in der Nähe der Jagadamba Junction. Die dortigen Aktivisten zogen Zweiräder mit Seilen und stellten die Frage, ob die Erhöhung ein Geschenk an die Bevölkerung nach den Wahlsiegen der BJP sei.
