Ludvika and Fagersta to acquire Vattenfall stake in VB Energi

Ludvika municipal council has unanimously approved the purchase of Vattenfall's shares in VB Energi together with Fagersta municipality.

Ludvika municipal council has unanimously decided to purchase Vattenfall's shares in VB Energi together with Fagersta municipality.

The transaction is the largest in the municipality's history and gives the buyers control of 50.6 percent of the shares in the energy company.

The purchase price amounts to slightly more than 1.4 billion kronor.

The government proposes in its spring budget amendment that the state take a 60 percent majority stake in nuclear company Videberg Kraft, planning new small reactors at Ringhals. The state will buy shares from Vattenfall for 1.8 billion kronor in 2027. The deal gives the state direct and indirect ownership of 80 percent.

The municipal housing company Falab/Libo in Lindesberg has sold the former ICA Stadsskogen premises, most recently occupied by Kotten & CO, for nearly 4.2 million kronor. Board chairman Pär-Ove Lindqvist (M) states that the sale allows focus on other ongoing projects. The company has also listed a former high school for sale.
