Das Finanzministerium hat das Büro heute im Eastern Industrial Park in Addis Abeba eröffnet. Staatsministerin Meskerem Debebe erklärte, die Einrichtung sei eher auf Unterstützung und Überwachung als auf Durchsetzungsmaßnahmen ausgelegt. Sie fügte hinzu, dass das Land im laufenden Haushaltsjahr ausländische Investitionen in Höhe von 13 Milliarden Dollar angezogen habe, was viele Hersteller dazu veranlasst habe, ihre Produktion aufzunehmen. Shi Yang, stellvertretender Geschäftsführer des Eastern Industrial Park, merkte an, dass die räumliche Nähe die Produktivität der Hersteller steigern werde. Das Büro soll zudem das Rechtsbewusstsein fördern, um Investoren bei der Einhaltung von Vorschriften zu unterstützen.
