Kinnon LaRose aus Ogdensburg feiert ersten Sieg als Cheftrainer in Keeneland

Der aus Ogdensburg stammende Kinnon LaRose errang am Freitagnachmittag auf der Rennbahn Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky, seinen ersten Sieg als Cheftrainer. Der Erfolg gelang mit dem vierjährigen Pferd Arthur Jr in Rennen 4. Der ehemalige Trainer Tom Amoss, der am 1. April in den Ruhestand ging, war bei dem Triumph anwesend.

Kinnon LaRose aus Ogdensburg übernahm die Rolle des Cheftrainers, nachdem Tom Amoss am 1. April in den Ruhestand getreten war. Ihr erster Erfolg unter LaRoses Führung kam in Rennen 4 auf der renommierten Keeneland-Bahn, einer der besten Austragungsorte für Vollblüter in Amerika. Arthur Jr, der vierjährige Läufer mit der Startnummer 3, überquerte die Ziellinie mit einer halben Länge Vorsprung in einem wettbewerbsstarken Feld von sieben Pferden. Amoss, ein Spitzentrainer, war in Lexington vor Ort, um den Sieg mitzuerleben. Dieser Meilenstein markiert LaRoses Durchbruch in seiner neuen Position auf der geschichtsträchtigen Rennbahn.

Britain’s Tom McEwen secured third place in the five-star dressage at the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event with a score of 25.1. Elizabeth Barratt claimed third in the Cosequin Lexington CCI4*-S class scoring 29.7. Both riders praised their horses after tests on 24 April.

Golden Tempo, the undefeated winner of the Grade 3 Lecomte Stakes, completed a solid workout at Fair Grounds on Friday morning as he eyes the upcoming Risen Star Stakes. The Curlin colt breezed four furlongs in 48.8 seconds under trainer Cherie DeVaux, marking his second drill since his January victory. He leads the points standings for the 2026 Kentucky Derby with odds of 30-1 in Las Vegas futures.

The four-year-old colt, trained by Bill Mott for owner Godolphin, holds a career record of 9 wins, 2 seconds, and earnings over $5.8 million, including victories in the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes. Other notable horses, such as Immersive and Journalism, also completed sessions at training facilities across the U.S.
