Protective hunting introduced after wolf attacks in Svenljunga

The County Administrative Board in Västra Götaland has decided on protective hunting of one wolf in Svenljunga municipality after four attacks since 10 May.

On Friday a one-year-old calf was injured just southwest of Örsås. The County Administrative Board assesses that a wolf caused the damage.

The decision means a hunt leader will be appointed who contacts local hunters in the area. Mia Bisther, wildlife handler at the board, confirmed the decision.

Previous attacks in the municipality have affected sheep. Similar wolf attacks have been reported in Trollhättan, Tidaholm and Tidan outside Skövde.
