Ruto ernennt ehemaligen Abgeordneten zum Vorstandsvorsitzenden der Konza Technopolis

Präsident William Ruto hat den ehemaligen Abgeordneten für Isiolo South, Abdul Bahari Ali, zum neuen nicht geschäftsführenden Vorstandsvorsitzenden der Konza Technopolis Development Authority ernannt.

Die Ernennung wurde durch eine Bekanntmachung vom 5. Juni offiziell verkündet und tritt mit sofortiger Wirkung für eine dreijährige Amtszeit in Kraft. Ali ersetzt Prof. Raphael Munavu, der am 24. April nach seiner Wiederernennung im März verstarb. Ali vertrat den Wahlkreis Isiolo South von 2003 bis 2013 im Parlament, zunächst für die KANU und später für die Jubilee Coalition. Er war Mitglied in den Ausschüssen für Haushalt, öffentliche Investitionen sowie lokale Behörden und Fonds und fungierte später als Chief Administrative Secretary für das Ministerium für Dezentralisierung sowie arid und semi-arid geprägte Gebiete. Die KoTDA beaufsichtigt das milliardenschwere Projekt Konza Technopolis, das darauf abzielt, Kenia als führendes Zentrum für Technologie und Innovation zu etablieren.
