Cementos Argos capitaliza con US$396 millones su plataforma en EE.UU.

La junta directiva de Cementos Argos S.A. aprobó capitalizar con US$396 millones a Argos North America Investments LLC, una sociedad recién creada en Delaware y de su propiedad total. Esta operación busca respaldar la consolidación y crecimiento de sus operaciones en Estados Unidos mediante la reinversión de dividendos de filiales.

Cementos Argos S.A. informó que su junta directiva aprobó la capitalización de Argos North America Investments LLC por US$396 millones. La sociedad, constituida en el estado de Delaware, servirá como vehículo de inversión y sub-holding para agrupar las operaciones de la compañía en Estados Unidos, incluyendo a Cemargos USA Corp. y Argos Materials LLC.

Los recursos provendrán de dividendos de filiales y se destinarán a fortalecer la plataforma en el mercado norteamericano. "Argos North America Investments LLC actuará como el vehículo de inversión y sub-holding bajo el cual se agruparán las sociedades de la Compañía en Estados Unidos", señaló la empresa en un comunicado.

Esta decisión forma parte de la estrategia de separación operativa en dos compañías: Argos Materials en Norteamérica y Argos Latam en la región. El objetivo es otorgar mayor autonomía para identificar oportunidades en cada mercado.

La operación se enmarca en el giro ordinario de las inversiones de Cementos Argos y no altera su política de distribución de utilidades ni su perfil de apalancamiento. La compañía mantendrá informado al mercado sobre los avances en la implementación de su estrategia.
