Aldeano de Hong Kong promueve la adopción de árboles ante los desalojos

Ken Mak está catalogando y ofreciendo 53 árboles frutales para su adopción en Yick Yuen Tsuen antes de tener que abandonar la aldea a finales de mayo.

Ken Mak, de 47 años, ha registrado la especie, la altura y el diámetro de 53 árboles frutales en la granja de flores de su familia y en una iglesia cercana en Yick Yuen Tsuen, Tuen Mun. Creó un catálogo con fotografías y ha llevado a visitantes a recorrer los árboles. Hasta ahora, catorce han sido adoptados.

La familia de Mak posee 30 de los árboles, los cuales fueron plantados por su abuelo. La aldea se encuentra dentro del Área de Nuevo Desarrollo de Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen y contiene alrededor de 2.000 árboles en total. Mak debe mudarse antes de finales de mayo.

“Mi esperanza es encontrar personas de buen corazón dispuestas a adoptar los árboles que plantó mi abuelo y darles la oportunidad de evitar ser aplastados hasta la muerte por excavadoras”, declaró Mak al South China Morning Post.
