屯門区の亦園村で、ケン・マック氏は5月下旬までの退去を控え、同村にある53本の果樹のカタログを作成し、里親を募っている。

47歳のケン・マック氏は、屯門区亦園村にある実家の花卉農園と近くの教会で、53本の果樹の樹種、高さ、幹周りを記録した。同氏は写真付きのカタログを作成し、訪問者に向けて樹木を案内するツアーを行っており、これまでに14本の里親が決まっている。マック氏の家族が所有する30本の樹木は、祖父が植えたものだ。この村は洪水橋・厦村新開発エリア内にあり、計約2,000本の樹木が存在する。マック氏には5月下旬までの退去が求められている。「私の願いは、祖父が植えた木々の里親になってくれる優しい人を見つけ、ショベルカーに押しつぶされる前に命を救う機会を与えることだ」とマック氏はサウスチャイナ・モーニング・ポスト紙に語った。
