El Comité de Seguridad Nacional de la Cámara de Representantes de EE. UU. ha convocado al CEO de Instructure, Steve Daly, para que testifique sobre los ciberataques a la plataforma educativa Canvas, los cuales expusieron datos de millones de estudiantes y docentes.

El comité, encabezado por el representante Andrew Garbarino, envió una carta a Instructure solicitando detalles sobre las dos brechas de seguridad perpetradas por el grupo de hackers ShinyHunters. La primera ocurrió el 29 de abril y la segunda el 7 de mayo, permitiendo el acceso a nombres de usuario, direcciones de correo electrónico, información de cursos y mensajes en más de 9,000 instituciones.
