IPUSA pide calma ante las tensiones entre el SAPS y el IDAC

El Sindicato Independiente de Policía de Sudáfrica ha pedido calma ante las crecientes tensiones entre el Servicio de Policía de Sudáfrica y la Dirección de Investigación contra la Corrupción.

El sindicato advirtió que el enfrentamiento público socava el estado de derecho y erosiona la confianza pública. Vinculó la disputa con arrestos y órdenes judiciales de alto perfil que involucran a altos mandos policiales.

El secretario general, Mpho Kwinika, declaró que las diferencias deben abordarse a través de los canales adecuados. Señaló que el enfrentamiento afecta directamente a los miembros sobre el terreno.

Kwinika recordó las tensiones de 2009 entre los Scorpions y el SAPS, que llevaron al cierre de los primeros. Subrayó que el conflicto actual no debe resultar en el cierre del IDAC, dada la naturaleza sofisticada del crimen en el país.
