Ipusa pede calma em meio às tensões entre o Saps e o Idac

O Sindicato Independente de Policiamento da África do Sul (Ipusa) pediu calma em meio às tensões crescentes entre o Serviço de Polícia da África do Sul (Saps) e a Diretoria de Investigação Contra a Corrupção (Idac).

O sindicato alertou que o impasse público prejudica o estado de direito e corrói a confiança da população. A organização associou a disputa a prisões e mandados de alto nível envolvendo autoridades policiais sêniores.

O secretário-geral Mpho Kwinika declarou que as divergências devem ser resolvidas através dos canais adequados. Ele observou que o impasse afeta diretamente os membros na linha de frente.

Kwinika relembrou as tensões de 2009 entre a unidade Scorpions e o Saps, que levaram ao fechamento dos Scorpions. Ele enfatizou que o conflito atual não deve resultar no fechamento do Idac, dada a natureza sofisticada do crime no país.
