Población ocupada en México crece 422 mil en un año

La Encuesta Nacional de Ocupación y Empleo (ENOE) reportó que en marzo de 2026 la población ocupada alcanzó 60.2 millones de personas, un aumento de 422 mil respecto al año anterior. La tasa de desocupación bajó a 2.4 por ciento y la subocupación a 6.7 por ciento, aunque la informalidad se mantuvo en 54.8 por ciento.

Datos de la ENOE del Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI) para marzo de 2026 muestran que la población ocupada se ubicó en 60.2 millones de personas, con un crecimiento anual de 422 mil.

La tasa de desocupación se redujo a 2.4 por ciento, por debajo del mes previo y en niveles bajos históricamente. La subocupación disminuyó a 6.7 por ciento, indicando una mejora en la calidad del empleo. El sector servicios sumó 240 mil empleos mensuales, impulsado por restaurantes, servicios profesionales y diversos.

Sin embargo, la tasa de informalidad laboral permaneció en 54.8 por ciento, con 33 millones de personas en ocupaciones informales, frente a 32.5 millones un año antes. La población formal se mantuvo en 27.2 millones, igual que en marzo de 2025.

Desde enero de 2019, se han creado 6.9 millones de empleos, de los cuales 58 por ciento son formales, equivalentes a 4 millones.
