Scout de Tacloban es condecorado póstumamente con el máximo honor al valor

Los Boy Scouts de Filipinas han otorgado póstumamente su máximo honor al valor al scout de 15 años Chris Lorenz Fabian, quien falleció protegiendo a sus compañeros durante un tiroteo escolar ocurrido el 22 de junio en la ciudad de Tacloban.

Fabian, estudiante de décimo grado, corrió para cerrar y bloquear la puerta del salón de clases con el fin de impedir el ingreso del tirador. La mención del premio señala que puso su cuerpo en peligro, protegiendo a su profesor y a sus compañeros de clase, y dando tiempo a 30 estudiantes para esconderse de manera segura.

Los líderes de los BSP visitaron a la familia Fabian en Tacloban para hacer entrega de la medalla y el certificado. Las autoridades declararon que actuó como un scout valiente, leal y servicial en todo momento.

El Sangguniang Panlalawigan de Pampanga también declaró a Fabian como el “Orgullo de Pampanga” mediante la Resolución 10319, citando su extraordinario coraje y noble sacrificio. Sus padres son originarios de Barangay Lourdes, Minalin y Brgy. Dau, en la ciudad de Mabalacat.
