7,300 pulis ipapakalat para sa Asean summit sa Cebu

Noong Sabado, naglunsad ng malaking security deployment ang Philippine National Police (PNP) sa Mactan Shrine, Lapu-Lapu City. Kabilang sa puwersa ang mahigit 7,300 personnel mula sa iba't ibang ahensya ng seguridad at emergency response para sa Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit 2026 sa Cebu.

Pinangunahan ni PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. ang send-off ceremony kasama ang lokal na opisyal at top security leaders. Ipinahiwatig nito ang buong pag-aktibo ng koordinadong national security measures para sa regional conference.

Naglagay din si Nartatez ng aerial inspection sa key areas sa Central Visayas upang suriin ang operational readiness, i-validate ang deployment plans, at tiyakin ang seamless coordination sa critical sites, transport routes, at event venues.

Ang ASEAN Summit 2026 ay magaganap sa Mayo 7 hanggang 8 sa Lapu-Lapu City, bagamat darating ang foreign delegates simula Mayo 5 at aalis sa Mayo 12.
