Nag-umpisa ang Balikatan 2026 na may 17,000 sundalo mula sa pitong bansa

Nagbukas ang pinakamalaking edisyon ng Balikatan 2026 sa Pilipinas noong Abril 20, na kinabibilangan ng mahigit 17,000 sundalo mula sa Pilipinas, Estados Unidos, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, at France. Ito ang pinakakomplikatong ehersisyo pa, na unang beses na makakasali ang tropa ng Japan Self-Defense Forces. Ang tatlong-linggong pagsasanay ay nakatutok sa interoperability at maritime operations sa gitna ng pandaigdigang tensyon.
