Mga airline humihingi ng pagbaba ng parking fees sa NAIA

Nagpahayag ng apela ang mga airline sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) sa Department of Transportation (DOTr) noong nakaraang araw para sa pagbaba ng mga bayarin sa airport. Ayon sa Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) general manager Eric Ines, hiniling ng mga airline ang diskwento sa landing at parking fees ng NAIA pati na rin sa navigation fee ng Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP). Hiningi rin nila ang pagpapaluwag sa limitasyon ng tatlong oras para sa pag-park ng mga eroplano at pagbaba ng bayarin para sa mga stranded na aircraft dahil sa tensiyon sa Middle East. Magmi-meeting ang Airline Operators Council, Board of Airline Representatives, Philippine Airlines Association, MIAA at DOTr sa Martes. Sinabi ni Ines, “We cannot just change it, we cannot immediately reduce the rate because it is in the concession agreement, and there is a law, there is an Administrative Order No.001. The President, and if the Cabinet agrees, then it can be only be replaced by regulation.” Batay din sa ulat ng CAAP, nag-anunsyo ang Cathay Pacific ng suspensiyon ng mga flight nito pauwi at mula sa Dubai hanggang Abril 30 dahil sa seguridad sa Middle East. Pinayuhan ang mga pasahero na makipag-ugnayan sa kanilang mga airline para sa rebooking at iba pang payo.
