Naglaan ang DBM ng P238 bilyon para sa tugon sa krisis sa langis

Naglaan ang Department of Budget and Management ng P238 bilyon na pondo upang suportahan ang tugon ng pamahalaan sa patuloy na global na krisis sa langis, ayon sa direktiba ni Pangulong Marcos. Ipinahayag ito ni DBM Secretary Rolando Toledo sa harap ng House committee on ways and means noong April 8. Kasabay nito, ipinapatupad ang 20 porsiyentong pagbawas sa hindi mahahalagang gastusin ng pamahalaan.

Nagbigay-pahayag si DBM Secretary Rolando Toledo sa harap ng House committee on ways and means noong April 8 tungkol sa P238 bilyon na magagamit na pondo mula sa 2026 General Appropriations Act, patuloy na appropriations, at automatic appropriations.

"As far as our response to this crisis is concerned, we have around P238 billion from available appropriations – from the 2026 GAA, and both automatic and continuing appropriations," aniya. Ididirekta raw ang bawat piso sa mga sektor na pinakamataas ang epekto.

Kasama sa mga pakikipag-ugnayan ang fuel subsidies na P2.5 bilyon para sa mga operator ng transportasyon at karagdagang P1 bilyon para sa service contracting. May suporta rin sa mga magsasaka at mangingisda sa ilalim ng Department of Agriculture, repatriation sa Department of Migrant Workers, at TUPAD ng Department of Labor and Employment.

Para makabuo ng karagdagang pondo, ipinapatupad ng DBM ang 20 porsiyentong pagbawas sa non-essential Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses sa mga ahensya. Kasama rito ang paglilimita sa opisyal na paglalakbay, pagmaximize ng virtual meetings, energy conservation, at pagstreamline ng operasyon.

Inaasahan ang savings na P12.8 bilyon hanggang P25.6 bilyon mula Marso hanggang Disyembre 2026. Tiniyak ni Toledo na protektado ang esensyal na serbisyo tulad ng edukasyon, kalusugan, at social protection.

"The instruction of President Marcos is to protect the Filipino people first. Even as we tighten spending, we will ensure that critical services remain uninterrupted and that assistance reaches those who need it most," dagdag niya. Patuloy ang koordinasyon ng DBM sa mga ahensya para sa epektibong paghahatid ng tulong.
