31 députés nommés à la commission de destitution sur l'affaire Phala Phala

Le Parlement a annoncé les noms des 31 députés qui siégeront à la commission de destitution chargée d'enquêter sur le président Cyril Ramaphosa dans le cadre de l'affaire Phala Phala. Ce panel a été mis en place suite à une ordonnance de la Cour constitutionnelle début mai.

Parmi les députés figurent Julius Malema, John Hlophe, Fadiel Adams, Vuyolwethu Zungula et Faith Muthambi. La commission se compose de neuf membres de l'ANC, six du DA, trois du MK, deux pour ActionSA et l'EFF chacun, ainsi qu'un représentant de chaque autre parti.

Plus tôt en mai, la Cour constitutionnelle a ordonné au Parlement de créer cet organe pour examiner les conclusions d'un panel formé en vertu de l'article 89. Ce panel avait conclu que M. Ramaphosa devait répondre de ses actes concernant le vol d'au moins 580 000 dollars en espèces dans sa ferme de Phala Phala.

M. Ramaphosa a l'intention de demander une révision judiciaire du rapport de l'article 89. Le Parlement doit d'abord modifier son règlement intérieur avant que la commission puisse élire un président et entamer ses travaux.
