Bill Ackman va céder le reste de ses parts dans UMG après l'échec de son offre

Pershing Square Holdings, le fonds de Bill Ackman, vend sa participation restante dans Universal Music Group suite au rejet de son offre d'acquisition la semaine dernière.

Pershing Square se sépare de ses 80,6 millions d'actions, soit une part de 4,7 %, à un prix fixé entre 17,66 et 18,62 euros par action. Cette vente pourrait rapporter jusqu'à 1,5 milliard d'euros. Cette décision fait suite au rejet par le conseil d'administration d'UMG d'une offre non contraignante valorisée à plus de 55,55 milliards d'euros. Le conseil a déclaré que l'offre sous-évaluait fondamentalement l'entreprise. Cyrille Bolloré, dont le groupe Bolloré est le premier actionnaire d'UMG, avait exhorté à rejeter l'opération. Les actions d'UMG ont légèrement chuté lors des transactions après la fermeture du marché le 3 juin.

Universal Music Group's board of directors expressed complete confidence in its leadership following an unsolicited takeover bid from Pershing Square.
