Le mode difficile inverse ces effets, augmentant la vulnérabilité du joueur, raccourcissant l'invincibilité des esquives et les fenêtres de parade, retardant la restauration de santé par la nourriture jusqu'à la fin des animations, et ajoutant de nouveaux schémas d'attaque pour les boss. Tous les boss subissent désormais des dégâts lors de certaines attaques puissantes et ont vu leur fréquence de contre-attaque ajustée, a précisé Pearl Abyss dans les notes de mise à jour.
