La Commission III du Parlement indonésien a vivement critiqué Rien Wartia Trigina, alias Erin, pour avoir déposé une plainte reconventionnelle contre son ancienne employée de maison, Herawati, en vertu de la loi sur la protection des données personnelles.

Les critiques ont été formulées lors d'une réunion consacrée aux violences présumées subies par Herawati. Le vice-président de la commission III, Habiburokhman, a estimé que l'invocation de la loi sur la protection des données personnelles était inappropriée, dans la mesure où les données personnelles désignent des éléments tels que les cartes d'identité et les comptes bancaires, et non des photographies du corps. "L'utilisation de la loi sur la protection des données personnelles dans des cas comme celui-ci n'est certainement pas appropriée. Car ce que l'on entend par données personnelles ne concerne pas des photos de ce type, mais des éléments de sécurité tels que les cartes d'identité, les comptes bancaires et autres", a déclaré Habiburokhman. Le membre de la commission III, Safaruddin, a souligné que Herawati devait bénéficier d'une protection juridique en tant que victime. Il a demandé à la police de ne pas donner suite à la plainte déposée contre elle et a offert des garanties quant à sa sécurité.
