La famille de Miguel Uribe rejette un pré-accord avec El Costeño

La famille du sénateur et pré-candidat à la présidence Miguel Uribe Turbay a rejeté catégoriquement un pré-accord entre le parquet et Elder José Arteaga Hernández, alias El Costeño. L'accord prévoit une peine de 26 ans de prison pour le meurtre du sénateur.

L'assassinat a eu lieu le 7 juin 2025 au parc El Golfito, dans le quartier Modelia à Bogotá. La famille a qualifié les avantages proposés à l'accusé de disproportionnés compte tenu de son rôle central dans le crime.

Dans leur déclaration, les proches d'Uribe ont affirmé que la défense d'Arteaga a misé sur des tactiques dilatoires plutôt que de fournir des informations véridiques. Ils ont fait valoir que les preuves existantes justifiaient une peine dépassant 40 ans.

Le parquet a justifié ce pré-accord en soulignant que l'acceptation des charges par l'accusé témoigne de ses remords et de sa volonté de coopérer. L'accord exige également qu'Arteaga présente publiquement des excuses à la famille devant le juge.
