Une erreur sur la personne entraîne une remise en liberté dans l'affaire du meurtre de l'assistant de Shubhendu Adhikari

La police du Bengale a libéré Raj Singh après une erreur sur la personne dans le cadre de l'enquête sur le meurtre de l'assistant personnel de Shubhendu Adhikari. Le véritable suspect a depuis été arrêté.

Selon des sources policières au Bengale, Raj Singh a été arrêté en raison d'une confusion sur son identité. Le CBI l'avait placé en détention à Muzaffarnagar avant de le relâcher après son interrogatoire.

Le 11 mai, Raj Singh avait été arrêté une première fois avec l'aide de la police d'Ayodhya. La police de Calcutta avait auparavant interpellé Vicky Maurya et Mayank Mishra à Buxar.

L'attaque contre Chandranath Rath a eu lieu dans la nuit du 6 mai à Madhyamgram. Une voiture dotée d'une fausse plaque d'immatriculation l'a intercepté et huit assaillants ont ouvert le feu.

Chandranath Rath, personal assistant to BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, was shot dead by motorcycle-borne assailants on Wednesday night in Madhyamgram, North 24 Parganas.

Rajasthan's Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested retired IAS officer Subodh Agarwal on April 9 in connection with alleged irregularities amounting to ₹960 crore in the Jal Jeevan Mission tender process. Agarwal, on the run since a court issued an arrest warrant, was apprehended in Delhi and brought to the ACB headquarters.
