POPCRU exige des mesures concernant le transfert du centre correctionnel de Mangaung

Le syndicat Police and Prison Civil Rights Union a adressé une lettre urgente accusant le département des Services correctionnels de contourner une décision du tribunal du travail avant le transfert de l'établissement de Mangaung sous le contrôle de l'État le 1er juillet.

POPCRU a envoyé la lettre le 29 juin 2026 par l'intermédiaire de ses avocats, exigeant que le département fournisse les uniformes, l'équipement et les plannings de service des anciens employés de G4S d'ici le 1er juillet. Le syndicat a également appelé à mettre fin au recrutement externe, qu'il a décrit comme une tentative de contourner l'ordonnance du tribunal.

Le tribunal du travail a statué le 30 avril 2026 que la résiliation de la concession constitue un transfert d'entreprise en tant qu'entité économique en activité en vertu de l'article 197 de la loi sur les relations de travail. Une demande de suspension de l'ordonnance a été rejetée le 18 juin 2026.

Bloemfontein Correctional Contracts a averti dans une prise de position distincte que le manque de préparation risque de faire dérailler un transfert ordonné. POPCRU a déclaré qu'il demanderait des sanctions pour outrage au tribunal si le département ne se conformait pas.
