Sheinbaum transmet au Sénat une réforme visant à reporter les élections judiciaires à 2028

La présidente Claudia Sheinbaum a soumis mercredi au Sénat une initiative de réforme constitutionnelle visant à reporter les élections judiciaires de 2027 à 2028. La proposition cherche à affiner la sélection des candidats suite aux critiques formulées à l'égard du scrutin de 2025.

La ministre de l'Intérieur, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, et la conseillère juridique, Luisa María Alcalde, ont remis le projet de loi au Sénat. L'initiative prévoit la création d'une commission de coordination regroupant les trois pouvoirs de l'État afin de vérifier les conditions d'éligibilité des candidats.

Elle propose également de limiter le nombre de candidats à quatre par poste et d'organiser un tirage au sort pour sélectionner deux finalistes. Si elle est approuvée, le scrutin aura lieu le 4 juin 2028 et pourrait coïncider avec le référendum révocatoire du président.

L'Association nationale des magistrats de circuit et des juges de district a qualifié cette mesure d'aveu de l'inapplicabilité du projet initial. Le groupe a estimé que ces changements étaient insuffisants pour empêcher la répétition de problèmes tels que la proximité des juges élus avec le parti au pouvoir.
