Susie Wolff a décrit les difficultés initiales rencontrées pour obtenir un soutien commercial pour la F1 Academy, la série de courses exclusivement féminine. Elle a expliqué comment elle a convaincu les dix écuries de Formule 1 d'apporter leur soutien avant la saison 2024. Wolff s'est souvenue être arrivée au circuit Paul Ricard pour un événement au début du projet et n'y avoir trouvé aucun spectateur ni aucune activité, hormis les camions de la série. Les directeurs d'écurie et les pilotes lui ont fait savoir qu'ils ne parvenaient pas à obtenir de financement, certains étant incapables de régler leur part des coûts selon le modèle original, où Liberty Media, les écuries et les pilotes couvraient chacun un tiers du budget.
